Williamsport, PA March 2, 2007

     On Friday March 2, 2007 Foundation for Safer Housing Executive Director Gary Johnson, and NACHI Executive Director and VP for the Foundation for Safer Housing, John Bowman met with local Lycoming County Officials in Williamsport, PA., to donate 60 visual smoke alarms to the Willaimsport/Lycoming County area’s hearing impaired program valued at over $9,000.00.

San Antonio, TX February 13, 2007

   On February 12, The Foundation made a delivery of 101 smoke alarms to be handed out to the students of Stevenson Middle School, with the remaining alarms being turned over to the San Antonio

San Antonio, TX December 2006

     The Foundation was made aware of an unfortunate situation that occurred in December of 2006. We were informed that four members of a hearing impaired family perished in a house fire. It was very evident that the family could not respond to the normal smoke alarms in the dwelling. Fred Lozano from KENS5-TV asked for help in his news story about the fire.

Suprise Gift

    The Foundation for Safer Housing would like to give our heartfelt thanks to an anonymous donor. Someone who wishes to remain nameless, even to us, called our hearing impaired smoke alarm supplier, Gentex, and paid for 75 of the alarms to be shipped to us.

Hurricane Relief


      From time to time, a special or unplanned event with a need for assistance or support may be required.  When one of thse events occur, whether its a natural disaster or a personnal crisis we will step forward and provide what aid that the Foundation and its supporters can furnish or supply.

Newtown, PA Walk 4 Hearing Event May 13, 2006

     Joseph Hagarty, of HouseMaster Inspections and past President of NACHI, from West Chester, Pa. assembled a team of volunteers and participated in the Walk 4 Hearing event on May 13, 2006 at the Newton Square walk site.
